Professor Ross Daniels

Professor Ross Daniels, a graduate of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, has an extensive career spanning over 25 years within the Faculty of Health at Queensland University of Technology. He also served on the university’s governing council for more than a decade. Currently, Prof. Daniel is a member of the Iman Wardingarri Aboriginal Corporation and an Elder of the Iman Aboriginal Nation. He also served as President of Amnesty International Australia, Chair of Amnesty International’s International Executive Committee, and Chair of Amnesty’s International Development Committee. Additionally, Prof. Daniel is an author, environmental activist, and researcher on Aboriginal Iman culture.

Dr. Werner Kiene

Dr. Werner Kiene is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Marine Stewardship Council, London (UK). He has decades of experience in eco-management, global development initiatives, multi-stakeholder efforts related to food security, and sustainable resource management. He worked for the Ford Foundation, the German Development Assistance Organization ( GIZ), the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). He also served as UN Resident Coordinator at Washington D.C.; Country Director for the UN-WFP (Bangladesh); Chairman, Independent Panels for the World Bank (IBRD) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); Chair, Board of Fairtrade America; and Vice-Chair, Fairtrade International Certification (FLO–CERT).

Professor Gary Clyde Hufbauer

Professor Gary Clyde Hufbauer is the Reginald Jones Senior Fellow at the Institute of International Economics, Washington DC.  He was previously the Maurice Greenberg Chair and Director of Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations; the Marcus Wallenberg Professor of International Finance Diplomacy at Georgetown University; Deputy director of the International Law Institute at Georgetown University;  and deputy assistant secretary for international trade and investment policy of the US Department of Treasury.

Justice Syed M. Dastagir Husain

Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain is a former Judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Former president of the Bangladesh Chapter of the Amnesty International, Justice Dastagir obtained his bachelor and master degrees in jurisprudence from the University of Rajshahi and practiced law at the High Court and Appellate Divisions of Bangladesh Supreme Court. He also served as Principal of Central Law College and as a member of the Academic Council the National University. A life member of the Bangladesh Law Teachers’ Association, Justice Dastagir authored several papers and delivered lectures on Human Rights and Humanitarian law at seminars at home and abroad. Currently retired, he is associated with the Red Crescent Society of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Heart Foundation, the Bangla Academy, and serves as an Arbitrator for arbitration proceedings.

Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud

Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud received his Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University and served as Professor of Economics at Dhaka University. He was Adviser to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh for the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Currently, he is a member of the UN Committee for Development Policy (UN-CDP); Chairman, the South Asian Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI); and Senior Advisor to International Growth Centre’s research programme on Bangladesh. He held teaching and research appointments at Cambridge, IDS at Sussex, World Bank, UNDP, ILO, and IFPRI. He also served as Chairman of the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) of Bangladesh.
